Growing up in a small family business is different.  We focused on paying bills every month.  We talked about business at breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  

I started selling shoes from the age of six (6) years old.  I loved it.  I thrilled to hear each and every customer's story on what shoe they needed and why: church choir audition, that first date, back to school. I sweated when we didn't carry the size, the color, or the cut, that the customer wanted.

I hustled to get one more customer, the perfect pair, for that important occasion, every single day.

I learned unpacking boxes, vacuuming the sales floor, getting the lunch order just needs to get done.
